"Thanks Andrea for a very productive training session. You showed true professionalism. I feel I am now able to put together a good learning journal knowing I am covering everything I need to in the most easy way. I was impressed with the training and intend to book another session soon."

Margie Storey, Childminder

"If you are needing help with managing policies, procedures, planning etc just book yourself a session with Andrea and you will never look at your paperwork in the same way again. Andrea explains everything clearly and slowly. I cannot wait for my next training session. keep up with the good work Andrea."

"I had a consultation with Andrea and she was very insightful and gave great advice. Her knowledge and experience left me in awe. Very inspiring. Looking forward to our next session. A big thank you Andrea."

Our

Purpose

Our Trainers
Our
Goal

Our goal is to improve outcomes for all children and that success depends upon the quality of the children's workforce. Our training helps to raise the quality of early years practitioners and nothing shows your commitment to career progression like a continuous record of training and personal development.

Our purpose is to support all professionals who work within the children's workforce to provide the best quality service to children and their families.

Our Trainers not only have extensive experience of working with children from birth to 16 in a range of professional roles but also with training early years practitioners, providers and managers. They each have a PGCE/Cert Ed with outstanding teaching practice grades and have undertaken mentor training with the University of Teesside.

"The best way to learn is

to learn from the best"

So now, I guess you want to know a little bit about me? Well, I began my teaching career with the National Childminding Association (NCMA) in 2007, delivering CACHE level 3 diplomas to Childminders, Nannies and Foster Parents across the north east of England.

In 2011, whilst doing my BA (Hons) in Education Studies, I was asked to deliver the Early Years Foundation Degree at Hartlepool College of Further Education on behalf of the University of Teesside, which I did until the end of the academic year 2014. Throughout this period, my average teaching practice grade was outstanding and I achieved all of my targets including learner success.  I also mentored Trainee Teachers through their PGCE, supporting them to achieve outstanding practice grades too.

In the spring of 2013, I became an Associate Tutor for the Professional Association of Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) creating training workshops for their staff and volunteer workforce and practice guides for its members.

I have been blogging for the last couple of years and now feature on, and guest blog for, an ever-expanding range of early years organisations and professionals.

"Thank you Andrea for supporting me through the FCCER-S assessment. I couldn't have been able to offer funded 2 year old places without your support. And thank you for giving up your time for free, that is so generous and kind to offer this support to Practitioners when you are such a busy person. Thank you, thank you so very much."

Feedback from our pro bono work

My training company was initially created to meet the demand for local Childminder CPD training since local authorities restricted CPD to those settings requiring improvement, essentially leaving good and outstanding providers without affordable options. However, I also support local Childminders in my capacity as Fellow-Ambassador of PACEY by providing professional services voluntarily.

My own childcare setting,                                           , came to be in September 2004. To date, my co-worker and I have 7 top grade OFSTED reports between us.  Inspectors have frequently remarked that our exemplary practice should be disseminated across the early years sector and this, fellow practitioners, is how Andrea Turner's Early Years Training & Consultancy came to be.

I also work as an Independent Visitor for changing futures, a charity supporting families and looked-after children and have established an early years social group with over 1000 members, dedicated to sharing any free CPD training we come across because - let's be honest - there's not an awful lot of spare cash around these days is there?

I love teaching and learning with the children's workforce almost as much as I love teaching and learning with children and I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity to do both.
